Michael Zehnpfennig

Vice President, Engineering

Michael Zehnpfennig was appointed Identiv Vice President of Engineering in January 2025. He joined Identiv in March 2024 as Director of Global Engineering, IoT.

Mr. Zehnpfennig brings over 20 years of expertise in the IoT and RFID sectors, having held prominent leadership roles across both end-user and manufacturing environments. His extensive experience spans innovation management, research and development, and production, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in RFID technology.

Prior to Identiv, Mr. Zehnpfennig served as Vice President of Business Development (EMEA) and Vice President of Operations at Wiliot, where he played a key role in creating/building and then scaling production processes and developing global supply chains. He also held senior positions at Smartrac, DHL, and METRO Group, where he was instrumental in advancing RFID adoption across various industries, including aerospace, automotive, and logistics.

A physicist by training, Mr. Zehnpfennig is recognized for his ability to blend technical knowledge with strategic leadership, driving innovation and operational efficiency in the IoT landscape. He speaks German, English, and Mandarin.

Mr. Zehnpfennig holds a diploma in Physics from the University of Bonn.
